Something sweet and with Suze, as a rebellion against the Jungle Birds from last night.

Tasting Notes
Rory: I was afraid it was going to be excessively sweet, but it’s less sweet than, say, the Spy Party. Despite the color, I think the first thing I pick up on is the Suze, but it’s got a pleasant fruity backdrop. The lime’s coming in strong too, but that’s coming from the dehydrated wheel that’s up in my face - it’s not notably sour at all.
We did a quick sample of the denizen and the plantation 3 star; the denizen was a little thinner, slippier, limey, sunscreen, the beach, versus the thicker Plantation. I think I’m going to, in general, prefer the Plantation, but the Denizen is nice here.
The Suze is starting to step to the background just a bit at the end of the drink; it’s more like a not-too-tart limeade with some strawberry. It’s a little syrupy-thick overall; I think it might be nice stretched out with soda water. The bitter but understated gentian from the Suze works nicely; I think I’m going to have a good time with a lot of the Suze drinks.
I dig it; I wish it were twenty degrees warmer (I’m under a blanket right now) and significantly sunnier (it’s night).
Ryan: First, a smell of strawberry and mint, so I’m expecting a pretty sweet drink. Takng a sip however, the Suze is very forward. There’s some bright aftertaste note, I think also from the Suze? The middle tastes like vanilla and a bit floral, I think from the rum. This is our first time using the Denizen white and it seems to work well here, though I’m not sure whether I like it as much as the Plantation 3 star? It feels like it has a bit less depth of flavor, and the flavors that are there are …fine, but very standard white rum flavors.
Very fresh and drinkable, and the Suze definitely makes it feel interesting. Still, overall it feels like it lacks a little bit of something–depth? But I’m not sure what I’d put in. Maybe cooked strawberry?
But, it’s all gone. So it was good.
