Eulogy
We’d been threatening to make this drink for a while, because it looked like a lopsided & unbalanced mess of too many strong flavors, but it was surprisingly how much we liked it.
Evergreen on the Suze Canal
We made up some drinks to celebrate(?) the boat getting stuck in the Suez canal.
Loesser of Two Evils
We decided to continue our pineapple trend by picking the first drink with pineapple rum that looked good.
Isla De Piña (mixed incorrectly)
we went with an old favorite, but did it wrong. No picture until we mix it right.
Plantation Pineapple Daiqiri
We picked up a bottle of Plantation Pineapple. It’s very good, though the drink isn’t quite right.
Tour Le Carbet
We wanted something with suze and so went with a (modified) version of a drink from Tiki
Le Negociant
A cocktail with no clear target audience? It’s not surprising that Haus Alpenz removed it from the back of the bottle.
Day Trippinʼ
Something sweet and with Suze, as a rebellion against the Jungle Birds from last night.
Piña y Caña
I wanted another Isla de Piña and Rory wanted something a bit more challenging. This works for us both!
Yellow Cactus Flower
There kept being drinks calling for Suze, so we finally gave in and picked up a bottle.
Auditing Princeton
Another sharp veer away from Tiki / sweet and tropical to a riff on a pre-prohibition drink.
Privateer
Spoiler: We both didn’t like it, though for unrelated reasons. We were certain that tiki and byrrh were going to go together. They didn’t. At last not here.
Spice Road
When deciding on tonight’s drink, we meant to do something less challenging than many of the batavia arrack drinks, “maybe using the pineapple liqueur since we’re enjoying the banana so much?”. Naturally, that means we found another drink with batavia arrack in it.
Spy Party
To complete this mission, the spy must contact the double agent by using the code word.
Atalanta
More Batavia Arrack! It’s prickly again! The arrack fits with the lemon the same way it fit with the Ancho Reyes yesterday.
The Green Mile
We had a bunch of Thai basil left over from dinner, so this seemed like an obvious choice. We made it two ways - once with Plantation 3 Star, and once with Uruapan Charanda Blanco.
Kill Devyl Reef
This was one of the first drinks we were able to make out of Mustipher’s Tiki. The funkiness of the Uruapan Charanda and the Rum Fire gave it a very pungent nose but overall it came together extremely well.
